My why

Welcome to Blanketed Grace, a business borne from trusting my knowing. Trusting my knowing that there had to be more to this life than the grind of the corporate job that I found myself in. It took me many years and an absolute rock bottom to trust for certain that my knowing was right.

When I took the loss of that corporate job to learn to be still, the stillness brought me here. In the many long hikes that I took with Piper, the answer revealed itself. I am to share my kindness and service with the most vulnerable. The elderly and the dying. My own mother’s 4 year battle with ovarian cancer and her subsequent passing in hospice was the most profound experience of my life. It brought me grace.

I enrolled in a program with a premier institute, Doulagivers Institute, to hone my skills of kindness and service, and to learn more about the end of life process. I am now a certified Elder Companion and End of Life Doula.

My experience has been further deepened by my volunteer work with three hospice systems in Tennessee. Through my partnership with these organizations, I have seen first hand the stress and sadness death can bring to caregivers and the absolute beauty that can be found in our transition out of this world.

I know that if you are reading this, either you or your loved one is overwhelmed by the prospect of aging and death. I would be honored to walk this journey with you. You are not alone.
